Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, popularly referred to in the media as Ashanti was born on 13 October the 13th of October, 1980 at Glen Cove New York United States. She is a songwriter, singer and actress who hails from in the United States. The talent of Ashanti was discovered when she was a teenager. She was signed to Murder Inc. Records, in 2002. The same year, she also in the Fat Joe's What's Luv? song and Ja Rule's Always On Time track both of which turned into huge smashes. The first ever female to reach the second and third positions across the United States, with Foolish on number one and What's Luv? She became the first female artist to have the highest two positions on the Billboard Hot 100 in America With Foolish as number one and the other being What's Loving?
